Never Run Out
of Stock —
or Drown in It.

43% of small businesses track inventory manually or not at all. Stockouts cost sales. Overstock ties up cash. BudgetTools tracks what you have, alerts you when to reorder, and shows your total stock value in real time.

The Problem

Why Manual Inventory Fails

Whether you're running a cafe, retail shop, or workshop — the same inventory problems cost businesses money every week.

You Run Out at the Worst Times

Stockouts don't just cost one sale. A customer who can't get their usual order goes elsewhere — and often doesn't come back. Manual counting means you only notice when it's too late.

Overstock Kills Your Cash Flow

Ordering too much to avoid stockouts ties up thousands in working capital. For perishable goods, overstock becomes waste. Most businesses don't know their optimal reorder quantity.

Shrinkage You Can't See

On average, 3–5% of inventory disappears without explanation — spoilage, miscounts, breakage, theft. Without a movements log, you can't identify where stock is going.

FAQ

Common Questions

You set a reorder point for each item (e.g., reorder when below 10 units). When stock drops to or below that level, the item appears on the Low Stock Alerts tab with a red badge. You can set different reorder points and order quantities per item.

The free version supports one location. Pro (coming soon) adds multi-location tracking with transfers between sites.

Go to the Movements tab and log a Stock In (delivery received) or Stock Out (used, sold, or wasted). Enter the item, quantity, date, and reason. Stock levels update automatically.

The reorder quantity is how much you order when you need to restock — separate from the reorder point. Setting a reorder quantity helps you quickly know how much to order when an alert triggers.

Total stock value = current stock quantity × unit cost per item, summed across all SKUs. This uses the cost you entered for each item. Pro (coming soon) supports weighted-average cost updates as prices change.
